In most countries, there is a fee for using highways. The motorway vignette can also be purchased online, known as the 'E-vignette'. Traditional adhesive vignettes are no longer specifically used. The motorway vignettes available for purchase here are exclusively electronic. In some countries, the national motorway vignette is not valid for every segment, and in such cases, a 'section fee' may need to be paid. This means that at a toll booth, a ticket must be purchased for the respective road use permit valid for that segment. This typically occurs at bridges and tunnels. At these locations, warning signs and road markings indicate that in addition to the already purchased motorway vignette, an additional (extra) section fee is required. Section fees are applicable, for example, in Switzerland (for the use of certain tunnels), Austria (for certain tunnels and mountain roads), and Slovenia (for the use of the 'Karavanke' tunnel).

Who can purchase a motorway vignette?

The motorway vignette is linked to the vehicle's license plate number, not to the owner of the vehicle. Anyone can purchase a motorway vignette, so it is not necessary for the buyer to be the owner or operator of the vehicle. Thus, even a passenger or the vehicle's renter can buy a motorway vignette.

When should you purchase the motorway vignette?

The motorway vignette must be purchased before entering the motorway. Some countries also offer a grace period, meaning that the vignette can be bought even after entering the motorway. However, this can be risky. It is therefore advisable to buy the motorway vignette before you enter the motorway.

Typically, motorcycles, cars, trucks, trailers, caravans, and other vehicle types require different motorway vignettes. Select the destination country, the vehicle type, enter the vehicle details, and then choose the validity period of the vignette. Proceed to make the payment online. The motorway vignette will become valid within minutes.

Can the motorway vignette be purchased after the fact?

Yes, a motorway vignette can be purchased retrospectively, but this is not accepted in most countries. Therefore, if the motorway vignette is not available at the appropriate time or is ordered with incorrect information, a fine can be expected. Nonetheless, it is advisable to purchase the motorway vignette retrospectively, as an appeal for leniency can be submitted in the event of a fine.

What happens after the purchase?

The system automatically sends a confirmation to the email address provided at the time of purchase, and also via SMS to the provided phone number. You must verify all information before driving on the motorway!

How long does it take for the motorway vignette to arrive?

In some countries, processing your order may take just a couple of minutes, whereas in others it could take up to 15-20 minutes. After placing your order, the information window will display the expected time for your vehicle's identification to be registered in the system. Do not enter the motorway until you receive confirmation!

Purchase with Incorrect Details

Authorities treat a motorway vignette purchased with incorrect data as if the purchase never occurred. However, Evignet24 offers a unique service for all customers: the Comfortia© system, which allows for the modification of data after purchase. This is contingent on the motorway vignette not yet being in effect. Comfortia© represents an added value service incorporated into the purchase base price. Can the motorway vignette be returned?

This option is not available with most road operators, but as part of the enhanced Comfortia© service, Evignet24 provides this opportunity. If there is at least 48 hours between the start date of the motorway vignette's validity and the application, it is possible to invalidate the vignette and receive a full refund. This can be requested in the form of a support ticket, at least 48 hours before the start of the validity period. Further details can be found in the Terms and Conditions document.

The motorway vignette has not arrived.

If your motorway vignette has not arrived within the specified time, please check the "spam" and other folders in your email account. If the motorway vignette is not found anywhere, you must open a support ticket in the contact section. Under no circumstances should you enter a toll road section until you have received your motorway vignette confirmation. The invoice, receipt, and payment confirmation alone do not authorize the use of the motorway.

Do I need to print the confirmation?

The motorway vignette available for purchase here is in digital format, so there is no need to print it out. Cameras conduct the inspections, identifying vehicles by their license plates.

What can be done in case of a fine?

The vehicle owner is responsible for purchasing the Motorway vignette. No other person can be held liable for fines or other damages incurred. In case of fines, the Auxil© service can be utilized.

Why does it cost so much?

You have the opportunity to decide whether you consider the prices shown in the checkout menu to be acceptable, so the purchase should always be made with these in mind. I purchased with incorrect information, what can I do?

If you have entered incorrect details, please contact us immediately through the contact form. You have the opportunity to amend an order once, free of charge. This service is part of our offering. Corrections can be made for up to three characters. Entering completely different information is not possible.

Can I cancel my purchase?

In accordance with the General Terms and Conditions, you are entitled to cancel your order if the validity of the motorway vignette has not yet commenced. This is referred to as the right of withdrawal. However, if the toll has already taken effect, the right of withdrawal ceases.
